Yes, thats where I saw it too, I just got my copy of that mag, I'm not sure what happened while I was gone, I didn't see the post/posts that got deleted. I did'nt mean to cause any controversy with this post, I just thought it was interesting because most actors who go into music do it because they have the money to do so, not because they really have talent, it's more of an ego thing, I just thought it was kinda cool that someone like that actually put in the work it takes to become a good guitarist, 40 years worth of work.
I'm assuming the deleted posts refered to his divorce, I try not to get into personal lives of people, especially when I don't know what happened, a lot of things are said during divorces especially when a lot of money is involved, not all of these things are true.
I was just commenting on the music, if I expected all musicians, actors, athletes to be perfect people, I'd be disappointed a lot in life.

I havn't found my tone yet, and I have no mojo....but I'm working on it :)

It was definately a tangent to the topic, fret not (no pun ).
there are a few actors who are pretty good musicians as well. Kevin Bacon is a decent player and has a pretty good band with his brother, and a year or so ago I saw Russell Corwe with his band on soundstage
Immature? Of course I'm immature Einstein, I'm 50 and in a Rock and ROll band.

as an actor for his genre goes, he is pretty good imo.
as to him being the "real deal" as a martial artist he is.
i have both of his albums and while they are not the best i've heard, they are far from the worst.
His guitar playing is actually pretty good imo.
#4491....
Can somebody tell me so I can get all indignant? Was it about Nirvana?
Kevin Bacon, Crowe, Seagal, John Kerry, Dave Barry, Stephen King, Jill Hennesey, Eric Idle, Ben Kingsley, David Carradine, John McEnroe, Dennis Quaid, Vincent from Entourage, Jerry Nelson of the Muppetts - the Count and Sherlock Hemlock, Ron Weasley - Rupert something or other....
All famous for something else, but all claim the guitar as their own. It's amazing how you are defined by what you do, but you define yourself by what you want to do. Even if you are famous....
You know what, the heck with it. Come on now, say it with me. Don't be embarassed. I AM A GUITARIST.
Jared Leto. Has starred in My So-Called Life, Panic Room, Fight Club, Lord of War. He also fronts the band 30 Seconds To Mars.
I saw Seagal on a late night TV show playing with some country pickers( Lester Flats and his son maybe) I wasn't Impressed, but then I don't like him much in the first place. I'll just leave it at that

Exactly so. And I'm an astronaut. 8)
Ruimtevaarder?
Haha, yeah, that's it. Actually we have the word 'astronaut' as well but Ruimtevaarder is the most correct term as it prevents confusion when Russian kosmonauts enter US spacecrafts and American astronauts enter Russian spacecrafts. Woops, I'm rambling again.
Don't forget Johnny Depp - played slide guitar on an Oasis album....

last year in Vintage Guitar magazine Seagal was interviewed. he seems to have tons of money as his guitar collection was over the top. he has the best of everything. plus he has Muddy Waters guitar, T Bone Wlakers guitar, and the rectangular guitar that belonged to Bo Diddly. the list goes on and on. I dont know how to feel about this yet?

In an interview Keith Richards stated that Depp had quite a respectable guitar collection, over 40 guitars and not a bit of crap in the lot. All vintage models, he did not comment on Depps ability to play any of them however.

I'm a big 24 fan (the show on Fox). After hearing that Keifer was a guitar player he moved up even higher in my book. :) Not only is he a decent actor but can play too! Cool. 8)
As for Seagal, I don't think very highly of him, even if he can play. I'd be surprised if anyone could get on stage with him because of his ego taking up all the space!

"Rock And Roll Ain't Noise Pollution"
I read the article on him in Guitar Player this month. It was a decent read, but I was a bit put off on his comment regarding some of the classic blues players who performed on his latest album. I don't remember it verbatum, but I think he was referring to Hubert Sumlin and made a comment that he had trouble keeping time due to his age. As true as it may be, I thought it would have been better left not stated.
I may be a bit sentimental, but I had the same feeling when I watched the Scorcese documentary "Piana Blues" by Clint Eastwood. I really enjoy Pinetop Perkins, but Clint only allowed him to play for a few seconds before he edited and went off to other clips. I can respect it if he was trying to preserve Pinetop's image and dignity due to poor playing on account of his old age, but if that's the case, then why not show some old footage of him playing?
Just my opinion.
