I have a feeling that Bonham and Mercury wouldn't contribute much these days . ..

So, why am I in a handbasket, and where are we going again?

I'm flexible on some personnel:

For altrockfunkjazzypunk

Beck (Jeff)
Belew or Summers on guitars/keys
Claypool or Wooten or Ox
Beauford on drums (from DMB) ... or maybe Grohl just for good, driving, fun
Byrne or Beck (Hanson) for vocals and production

probably a real mess

I still dig the Dirty Mac:

John Lennon -- vocals & guitar
Eric Clapton -- lead guitar
Keith Richards -- bass
Mitch Mitchell -- drums

Oh shucks, I thought it was "your dream band" as in "My" dream band.

Well, I think everyone's had people they've played with over the years that they wish they still played with.

Mine would be (and nobody's gonna know them):

Bass: 'Tall' Bill Jenkins
2nd Gtr: Me
1st Gtr: Shival Redwing
Drms: "Bongo" (from Frankie's Bad Boys)
Keys: David Swaim

Guitar - Paul Weller
Bass - Bruce Foxton
Drums - Rick Buckler

Now wouldn't that be the best band ever?

This is one I gotta think about. . .
I got an idea! I'll have a "first team" and a "second team," like varsity and junior varsity! Now to go to sleep and ponder my choices  .

Briank got me thinking....why stop at a dream band? Why not a dream concert?

Let's start off with some good ol' Rock'n'Roll....

Elvis - Vocals
Buddy Holly - Guitar/Voc
Eddie Cochran - Gtr/Voc
Jerry Lee Lewis - Keybd/Voc
Scotty Moore - Lead Gtr
Bill Black - Bass
Clem Cattini - Drums

Then we'd get together the stalwarts of the 60's British Blues scene...

Alexis Korner - voc/harm'ca
John Mayall - voc/gtr/keybd
Rory Gallagher - gtr
Peter Green - gtr
Jack Bruce - Bass
Ginger Baker - Drums
Graham Bond - Alto Sax/Keybds
Dick Heckstall-Smith - Tenor sax
Cyril Davies - Harmonica
Nicky Hopkins - Keyboards

And let these guys finish off with a classic rock set.....

Roger Daltrey - voc
John Lennon - gtr/voc
Keith Richard - gtr
Jimmy Page - lead gtr
Paul McCartney - bass/voc
Keith Moon - Drums
Ian MacLagan - Keyboards

Apologies to blues fans...no BB King, SRV etc...but I'm listening to a lot of 60's British Blues at the moment.....

The key-word here is "Dream"......unless the Doctor would lend me the Tardis for a couple of days or so......

:D :D :D
