So, I think I'll work on a very short list for next year and get them ingrained to my brain cells enough so that I can add a couple a year like you guys.

So, my list going into next November will be:
- "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer" (strummy version)
- "Happy Christmas" (strummy version) by John Lennon )Turns out I had played this some last year. It came right to me when I stumbled upon it and gave 'er a whirl)
- "What Child Is This" - This is only so I can do the parody as done by Isaac Hayes cartoon character, Chef, before he left the show.
- "We Wish You A Merry Christmas"
- "Let It Snow"
- "Have Yourself A Very Mary Christmas"

Nothing too daunting. Come halloweeen, I'll either be breaking these out for massive practicing or I'll have already known these inside and out and will select 2-3 more. They'll probably jump out at me from the GN site holiday song section. Every once in a while I may learn a new one and if so, there is no set time to do so as long as it's done before December.

Once I've learned a song, it doesn't take too much practise to bring it up to scratch the next year, and I've now got a repertoire of about a dozen songs - all good singalong stuff. Merry Xmas Everybody, Run Rudolph Run, Frosty The Snowman, So This Is Xmas, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town (a la Springsteen) - none of those is too difficult for anyone who's got a few chords under their belt, they're all mostly open chords.

The one I keep meaning to learn every year and never seem to get round to is Greg Lake's "I Believe In Father Xmas" - maybe next year?

And the one I should be playing right now? Maybe "Let It Snow" - although there's already a few inches on the ground, so perhaps I'll leave that one alone. Don't want to tempt fate!!!
