I have a Boss RC-2. I bought it a couple of weeks ago. I was also considering the new Digitech. I only use it for improvising over chord progressions that I previously record over the drum track. When I record songs or tracks for collaborations I use my computer. I only put in my pedalboard when I use it (usually I don't use pedals, only the cable).
