I never heard her or heard of her, but when one of the masters passes, it's too bad.<br><br>Thing is though, some of them live through us in a way. Like you said, she encouraged you with that tuning, and that's actually a part of her being passed along the line. So in that, it's cool. Better to actually have them around in person though, I know, but if something of theirs is passed along, it's like they keep living.<br><br>Best]]></content:encoded>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[this morning I learned of the passing of a great pedal steel guitar player.<br>her name is Marian Hall.<br>she passed away on April 12th.<br>at age seventeen she joined a bnad and gigged right off all over Alaska and then made the 50's country swing scene in California and Texas.<br>she was one of the few women that played steel guitar.<br>highly respected, charming and talented.<br><br>I discovered her on a DVD; Tex Ritter's Rockin at the Ranch.<br>shortly after I read an article about her in Vintage Guitar magazine; written by Cindy Cashdollar.<br><br>Marian and I wrote to one another briefly over the last two years.<br>she encouraged me to tackle C6.<br><br>rest in peace darlin']]></content:encoded>
