Stewart-MacDonald has one that's a little lower price than the Grover. I might get one for the Squier Bullet Special that I just recently tuned into Open E. This one got pretty good reviews from Stew-Mac customers: <http://www.stewmac.com/Materials_and_Supplies/Nuts_and_Saddles/Slide_Guitar_Extension_Nut.html>

I've got an SX lap steel, but I wanted to keep that one in C6 tuning, and use something else for a Juzzie Smith song ("The Keys") in Open E. My stepson told me awhile back that he thought the Bullet Special had kind of a high action. I hadn't noticed a problem with it, but I have other guitars that I play more often, and Jason's way more into shredding than I am.

My question is are those slide guitar extension nuts (the ones you just place over existing nut) pretty much universal? I want to put it on a telecaster or possibly a Les Paul knock off. Just wondering if there's any different between them or am I good with just about any one of them? Maybe it's not even necessary .... just thought I'd seek opinions.

This is what I'm looking at. Thanks for any info, suggestions.

http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PerfectNut?adpos=1o1&creative=55397627521&device=c&matchtype=&network=g&gclid=COPg1Z-f9MYCFUUUHwodFWYPXQ
