                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[Hey Vic <br><br>Good to see the arm is better , when I first open this I thought ..<br><br>Vic what have you written here ( War and Peace ?) :lol: <br><br>But after reading it ( a couple of times ) there is real easy flow to each line and the story just unfolds as one reads more and more then a little tune jumped into my demented head on second read <br>( like slow finger picking  ) then it became more like strumming in the middle section , then back to finger picking at the end . <br>( sorry for interupretation of your song ) :oops: <br><br>Then I thought to myself I wonder what has Vic in mind musically for this ? it would be a too hard of a task for this little duck . :wink: <br><br>Good writting Vic &lt;-----( hope the arm keeps improving )<br><br>Hilch :?:]]></content:encoded>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[A Modern-day Romeo and Juliet.....<br><br>The Finnertys and Flahertys, have been daggers drawn for generations,<br>Since young Molly Finnerty, said no to Tom Flaherty at the church,<br>She wasn't really sure, but she plunged the families into all-out war,<br>But she knew what she was doing when she left him in the lurch,<br><br>The Finnertys and Flahertys, hate each other with a vengeance,<br>So alike, so different, feuding over imagined slights,<br>They came to England, differences were not forgotten,<br>The men glared at each other over many building sites...<br><br>And the bad blood festered and the bad blood rankled,<br>Generations heard the same old tales,<br>With a different slant from either side,<br>Hate your neighbour when all else fails.....<br><br>And the Finnertys settled in Newton-le-Willows,<br>And the Flahertys sailed in Leigh,<br>Only five miles away as the crow flies,<br>But worlds away from trying to agee.....<br><br>And then 200 years after the original incident,<br>Paul Finnerty fell in love with Marie,<br>His parents said well this can't go on,<br>You can't be seeing a Flaherty........<br><br>And the bad blood festered and the bad blood rankled,<br>Generations heard the same old tales,<br>With a different slant from either side,<br>Hate your neighbour when all else fails.....<br><br>But Paul and Marie had other ideas,<br>They were young and in love, and they didn't care,<br>And they set a date, and they bought the rings,<br>And the families had to pretend to care.....<br><br>And the families got together at the wedding,<br>And the differences were laid aside,<br>And both families toasted the groom,<br>And both families toasted the bride......<br><br>Much beer was consumed, old threats were forgotten,<br>The families got on like a house on fire,<br>Jigs and reels and "Whiskey In The Jar"<br>No-one called anyone a liar<br><br>And the Finnertys and Flahertys are now close friends,<br>And the invitations are manifold,<br>And the families are now ascloseasthis,<br>And the sons and daughter's don't need to be told,<br><br>That the bad blood festered and the bad blood rankled,<br>Generations heard the same old tales,<br>With a different slant from either side,<br>Hate your neighbour when all else fails.....<br><br>Now the bad blood's ended, the vendeta's mended,<br>And the families are as close as you get,<br>And Paul and Marie, as happy as can be,<br>A modern day, Romeo and Juliet.....<br>____________________________________________________________________<br><br>This is kind of based on my family, two lots of Irish antecedents, two families at war for years until a certain wedding,,,,pity I didn't have room for the fight scenes.....<br><br> :D  :D  :D <br><br>Vic]]></content:encoded>
