Cool. I mean, I assumed that's what you meant, it's just not what I read. I know how tough it is to change a line. I'm still trying to find a good line for the assignment back in August. There were lots of good suggestions, but none of them worked.

Congratulations, Vic. Sounds like you know your English better than 90% of the population...certainly of the American population, anyway. So, next time don't second guess yourself when someone makes an incorrect correction on grammar, since you were right the first time. As for changes, I get what you mean. I don't usually post something until I'm satisfied with it. And most of the time suggestions people make don't quite work. However, sometimes even adding a little word like "this" (a suggestion Pbee once made) can make a difference. Other times, even if I'm not crazy about the suggested replacement, it'll spark something else, that makes me go, "Hm, why didn't I think of that before?" This being a forum based on critiquing, I think we feel almost obligated to critique, and at times it inadvertently turns to nitpicking, and trying to mold everyone's song into what we like. And while, it can be annoying, it can also take a good song, and make it great--or hey, make one song, into two. As for cliches, I see a lot of those--probably why they're called cliches. In your case, I don't have a problem with it because it's clear that the cliches were intentional. Looking forward to hearing it someday, though at this rate, it might have to be on the radio, since I haven't been able to get this stupid thing to work right. Again, good song. And great line. (..."Might've run, not walked.) I can relate.

Joe
