Personally, I think this song has great imagery, even if some of the lines are "cliche". So I try to record a vocal....hah, not a chance, all that's coming out is a feeble croak...and that's being kind to sick frogs....

I'll have to put this on the back burner for a couple of days, till I stop snuffling, sneezing and wheezing.....

as for the "Know your English" test, I scored 69/70....

Marilyn watched it, and checked my answers so I couldn't cheat....

The one question I got wrong....I said "St. James' Palace," the answer was "St James's Palace"....and I still don't think that looks right....

Yeah, it does seem pretty stupid, why post my songs if I'm going to totally ignore any feedback?

Actually I don't ignore it....sometimes I have acted on suggestions, other times I haven't....but I really value constructive criticism, it lets me know if I'm on the right track.....

The "bat out of hell" line, though, is staying - for now - fits in with the "scalded cat" line and the fox going to ground line....huh, I should have written this one a few weeks ago when the theme was "animals"....

I know it's a bit of a cliche, I know it's been used before....anyway, I'll try and record it later, give you an idea of how it fits....

1) If you don't plan on changing your songs, do you still want input? It's your song, so it is your call; if you disagree with a suggestion, then you can ignore. However, why solicit input and ignore it out of hand?

2) He's not asking you to rewrite your song, he's pointing out that there is a single line that could stand to be changed. I'm pretty up tight about changing my songs too, but single line changes can have a powerful effect for very little effort, especially when someone else has gone to the trouble of pointing one out (though, in this case an alternative has not been proposed).
