Time was the key theme for this piece, although I am aware of the fact that time in itself is beyond comprehension and only makes sense when applied to something - your life and actions within it for example. It is also true that you may achieve a great deal in a small amount of time or very little over a long period of time. The point is that nothing is constant, all things must change.

I may appear to have gone off on one here but these were major factors in the tone of the piece and, to me at least, time is an endless source of discussion and inspiration and I am never quite sure where I stand on the matter.

Thanks again for all of your comments.

Pete. :)

Thanks.

That Tower to heaven part was actually more of a metaphor. I was referring to the way that people, me being the perfect example, often have the right idea but go about things in the wrong mannner. George Bush is a perfect example for me - his anti-terror stance is good, the way in which he has tried to bring this about bad. (By the way I would ask you not to respond to my comments on Bush, I do not want this thread to degenerate into a political debate, thanks)

However, feel free to interpret things in whatever way you choose. I may have wrote the song but I would never be so arrogant to assume that I know what it means.

Thanks for your comments.

Pete. :)

Man, I really like this song. Especially this part
Time moves so fast but my hands work so slowly
Barely a moment to rest or to pause
Time's a deceiver but life is an empire
Build it up strong then you'll weather the storm

You give a total counter perspective of how I view life in my songs. Such as:
Life was never good anyways
Just a string of lonesome days

I also like this
It's late in the year so I slowly walk backwards
Bathe in the heat of the fire and the flame
I work night and day, build a tower to heaven
But quicken the pace thanks to lucifer's brains

To me its saying that by building that tower to heaven you have ultimately dont the opposite and worship the thing, the tower in this case, instead of God. Thus doing ultimately what lucifer wanted. Dont know if thats what you meant.. but that is how I took it.

Thanks for sharing the song
Geoo
