I like the laid back feel to the song and agree with Vic on that one line , not overly natural............unless you are Irish of course and then we do word things a bit odd here and there :D

I have contacts in Austin and Nashville who have shown interest in some of my Country/Cowboy/Western lyrics. My employer, Continental Airlines, will include coverage of my volumes in a section, in the "Continental Quarterly", on employees who have published books. That should give more exposure.

I've had a couple demos done at recording studios, but no results since I didn't have the time, funds, nor contacts to advertise them properly.

I found this nice and easy to put a rhythm to, thinking verse - verse - chorus(1) - bridge - chorus(2)....

Lovely imagery in the two verses and the bridge....like the Isley Bros captured that summer feeling in Summer Breeze, you could almost smell the Jasmine - I can almost smell the sage and avocado, and see cracked abobe walls - and you mentioned ponderosa, and I'm a sucker for anything Bonanza-related - I loved that series......

the only line I stumbled over was this - "with you forever I long to be" - seems a little forced, by which I mean it's not a line you'd say in real life....maybe something like "with you I'll always be"....still a little forced, but slightly more optimistic than yearning.....

Very nice, I like this one......

And seeing as you've written over 4,000 songs - my mind boggles at that kind of output - I have to ask, have you recorded any? Has anyone else recorded them? If so, where can we hear demos?

Keep writing - (yeah like anything's going to stop him now....)
