Maybe I should have read the lyrics first.....but then, they seemed to fit so well with the flow of the music.

Kevin - just remember, Jimi didn't use a wah-wah on EVERY song....it's no bad thing having one of the greatest guitarists ever as your role model, but don't forget to put some KEVIN in there as well....there was a guy back in the 70's called Robin Trower, played lead and sang - his backing band comprised a bass player and a drummer. Although he was a fine guitarist, and made some good albums, he was labelled as nothing more than a Hendrix copyist by the music press and sales probably suffered as a result....looking back on hs music from a distance of 30 years, yes you can see and hear the Hendrix influence - lots of wah-wah, the same kind of lazy delivery, but he did write all his own songs....and as far as I know, didn't do Hendrix covers....

What I'm saying is, it's ok to be influenced by your heroes, but don't write everything with Jimi in mind - be yourself!!!!

Still a good song though....

:D :D :D

Vic

Man, there's a Hendrix vibe in everything I do or say in life. Not sure if that's a good thing or not though, lol. Velvet Underground, very interesting, wasn't expecting that one. Everytime I hear a song from that band, I like it, I should probably go listen to an album of theres, maybe it'll give me some ideas.
Lyrics? Well - you've got a good eye for imagery, some nice metaphors and phrases in there...not a lot needs doing to it, in my opinion.

If this is how you sound when you're still "not good enough to get the feeling over you want" (to paraphrase) I look forward to hearing your songs when you're further along the road!
Thanks again. I see what you mean by the metaphors not being needed in the song here.
You may want to come back and re-do this in the future, when you've improved - I'd keep this pretty much as it is. I like the languid delivery, and the sparse backing - well, I don't think adding anything else to it would improve it much! Some songs are meant to be left the way they were born....

Keeping my eye on you - definitely one for the future!!!

:D :D :D

Vic
Thanks again Vic. And yea, I do plan on coming back to this once I get a wah-wah pedal and more time to mix some tracks together, maybe a better mic to.

Appreciate it.
