I love this song, it makes me happy:))
don't you dare stop liking it, it's really sweet and so many excellent lines in there, like:
The prefect lady, full of social grace.
With the joy of life written on her face. love this. is 'prefect' deliberate or did you mean perfect? it works either way.
Give him half a chance and they'd be gone. great, mostly because of the title which is in there and I'm very fond of the title.
champagne scenes. This downhome boy will for his champagne girl. I think this is a great way to describe it(and this song does have enough opposites)and also a pretty inspired one :D
I,too, like the line with him not daring to dance fast and throughout the song I really feel for the boy, in my eyes you make him look very nice(I'd go out with him any time :D )
the first verse didn't make me like the girl too much but as I started to like the boycharacter more and more I liked her more, too. the chorus also helped=>'Til she catches his eye and his faces breaks in a grin.
Now they're out on the floor for every slow song. I look at them and I hope to God they make it through.

like the last lines...kinda hopeful;) so the title might be meant more optimistic than I thought first(I was like, only half of a chance, no real chance?, gonna be a sad song...I was wrong :wink: )

really, i love this song and I don't think it's too simple or too clichéish if that's what you worry about. it's damn good.

You let us know why she really does like him rather than just criticising him further. That really works as part of the opposite theme.
Give me a simple song like this any day rather than one thats all imagery and no story.
There's some really gorgeous lines in there too
especially the bit about the slow dances because the guy thinks he'll do it wrong
Be proud of it cos its a good song

Good stuuff. the line "Swaying skirt that flows just like her hair.
A smile so warm it makes me glad she's here" particulary strike me. the subtle way you get the opposites and show the feelings these two have for each other is great.Like the title it fits the song well.

nice song here. i have to agree with bob, it still fits the assignment. you don't always have to go overboard and be so obvious to make a song work for an assignment.

I look at them and I pray to god they make it through for some reason this line really touches me. maybe b/c me and my ex were kinda like that. most people were suprised that we were together.

I think you've done really well here Narn some good contrasting imagery to stop what is an overworked theme becoming stale. You could go diametrically opposed but I think that would take it too far I think it's fine the way it is and I can hear the country finger picking as I read it.

You're right on the opposites, I didn't really carry that off too well. I guess you get what you put in, next time I'll spend a little longer at the assignment (I used to say that a lot in college too!). The more I read this the less I like it.
