So everybody will read or hear things a little differently.

Someone will say "I couldn't understand this verse..." and another poster will say that was their favourite bit.

I felt that you left a lot of room for us to fit it to our own lives. So it could have been a fresh start from all sorts of different types of relationship difficulties. Or it could have been from alcoholism, gambling addiction, anger or violence issues, or whatever sprang to the listener's mind really.

As always, there's room for more expansion on the theme, but I don't think that it's essential to do that. Some very effective songs keep the theme simple. And what sticks in our heads is usually just a line or two from a song, or maybe a verse.

So I can see someone working away at something and just singing:

"i'm free to live
the way i choose
no fears, no pain
no one to blame"

or whatever. Good job with the mp3 too. Looks like we both "took the plunge" this week! 8)

There's all sorts of little hints but many of them seem contradictory ("I've changed my ways" which implies control of the situation versus "all doors are open / which way to choose" which, while is a matter of control is also a matter of trust in fate) and I kind of wish I knew more about the backstory.

Also "Demons" is (to me anyway) a very powerful figure.
