Everything I touched developed <br>The habit of turning into gold <br>But the fire that used to warm me <br>Was starting to get out of controlI really liked this part. When I read it though, I thought "Was starting to get out of control" would sound better with "Was starting to get cold." But, when analyzing it, it could have totally different meanings. I just thought it sounded cool (no pun intended.) Keep it up!]]></content:encoded>

It functions perfectly as a transition between the upper and lower parts.  The last line also, I love how it uses fire imagery and a concrete image to describe an abstract feeling (I think that sounds right...)<br>It does read a little funny, but if you just look at the lyrics a lot of the songs out there look like this without the music.]]></content:encoded>

That's next.<br><br>I don't think there are any impenetrable Australianisms here, let me know if there are.<br><br>This looks like the final edit, if there's any such of a thing (21 April)<br><br>School days are supposed to be the best you ever know<br>Mine weren't a lot of fun<br>My clothes were never fashionable <br>My classmates assumed that I was dumb<br>I disagreed, but I copped it sweet I was brought up to be polite<br>I was determined to prove myself and it kept me warm at night<br><br>I had an idea and I took a punt<br>Made a coupla grand<br>Ploughed it back into my idea<br>Let my horizons expand<br>There were mistakes and disappointments I learned from every one, and put it right<br>My fiery urge to prove myself kept me warm at night<br><br><I>Bridge</I><br>I watched my old life get smaller<br>As I ascended in the world<br>I denied myself no pleasure<br>Had my pick of any girl<br>Everything I touched developed the habit<br>Of turning into gold<br>But the fire that used to warm me<br>Was getting out of control<br><br>To harness my abilities<br>I've had to make myself so tough<br>I've never seen the need to bother<br>With the concept of enough<br>I've destroyed or absorbed all my competition still my ambition feels unfed<br>The fire now is raging, I can't sleep in this burning bed.]]></content:encoded>
