I live near Fermilab, the largest ring that existed before CERN. I have several friends that work in the field of subatomic physics.

There were so many song directions that project could inspire, a more philosophical direction is certainly one of them. I got the "they don't know" hook idea from the video where the narrator kept saying "we don't know" in response to self posed questions :?: , so that is where I went. Admittedly my friends song prompt was only tangentially related to the assignment, from that standpoint the song certainly could have gone in another direction since apparently "they don't know" what cost or benefit the results of the research will have. In 50/90 mode, I have FAWMed on :lol:. To keep sanity, peace and the rest of my life in order, I have allocated a couple of hours or less per initial song development to rough demo. This was definitely fun and interesting - loved the "press conference is at three" line!

I have to admit, though, that the last line of the first verse:
See what makes everyday matter the truth is they don't know Had me set up for listening to all sorts of other possibilities. I kept thinking that maybe we'd get out of the super=collider and start dealing with other "everyday matter," which (of course) no scientist or person can explain either! Might be a topic for a whole new song.

Only suggestion I'd make is to cut out the word "running" from this line:
Running billions of collisions testing effects of the crash You don't really need it and removing it would make it easier to sing, phrase-wise.
