Definitely like this one a lot - found myself coming up with all sorts of melodies while reading it over and over in my head. Only suggestions I'd make would be to dumb down the language in places, like here:

I've got no drums.
I gotta get me some.
A song ain't worth discussin'
If it ain't got no percussion.

Yes, that's a little like "It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing," but I think it definitely works here.

Also, I might suggest a small tweak in the following verse:

Need a pounding bass,
And a snare to set the pace,
Need some high hat that just sizzles
And don't you dare forget the cymbals!

Just a thought.

I very much hope you set this to music at some point. It's a wonderful song and should be played and heard!
