“Black and Silver Box”


My mind sometimes a little blurry
but the events are still crystal clear
when ever I want to remember
I can open the album and see.


Mom never mastered it
that was my head behind the thumb
blowing out the candles
and that bad hair style back in high school
got cut out of the photo.


It reminds me of so much
sitting up on the shelf
that black and silver box
made of metal and glass
the memories it created
and the memories it preserved.


For a time back in college
I called myself an artist
poured some wine and more charm
got girls to be my models.


I took it with me everywhere
every party and family function
people have come and passed
but they still live on forever.

It is amazing to think
just how many memories
the joy, the pain, laughter,
the family and the friends
can be packed into 35mm.


i don't really like this, and i know it needs lots of work. but hey, i didmanage to write something so i am happy for that.
