Not everyone's gonna get or like what you do, and everyone on here doesn't constitute "Everyone," so do what feels right to you. Personally, I like being different, and "Bloodhound" doesn't do anything for me. Unless you come up with something you like as much or better than Smellhound that appeals to the masses, I say, again, go with your gut, and your first instincts. <br><br>Joe]]></content:encoded>

No need to make everything accessible to everyone (impossible anyway, we all have different experience banks).<br><br>I'm sure that there are millions of people whose only knowledge of Rio comes from Peter Allen's song "I go to Rio" - likewise for songs like "Chicago" "New York, New York". etc.<br><br>Smellhound sounded unusual to me (and will probably stick in my mind for just that reason). I didn't know the Simpsons reference, but it definitely had a strong 'put down' feel to it for me.  "Bloodhound' sounds somehow just too efficient - sort of an "always gets their man" kind of feel.  Smellhound also had overtones of "Smelly hound" which seemed to fit.]]></content:encoded>

I liked the hillbilly sounding term for hound dog (got it from the slack-jawed yockle from the Simpsons).  <br><br><B>Why I don't want to change it:</B><br>1) I think it is the most condescending term I could have picked, which is important for a kiss-off song.<br>2) It is unique.<br>3) Bloodhound gives too much power to the intended "victim"<br>4) I think someone already wrote a song called "Hound Dog" :)<br>5) It seems a simple change won't work and major changes are hard work<br>6) I'm stuborn<br><br><B>Why I need to change it:</B><br>1) Turns out only hardcore Simpson's fans and hillbillies get it<br><br>So, dilema of dilemas, I've got to change it.  Darn.  I'm sure the solution will make itself apparent someday.]]></content:encoded>
