Playing the E shape will give you F# (or the Em shape for F#m). The usual C shape will give you a D, the G shape will give you an A and so on. 8)

I also figured out what chords I am going to use on it, so as soon as I can get a barre F#m, I think it is, down, I'll be good to go on the guitar part.

Ahh, and yes.. The week is getting a little better. Maybe thats why I am thinking more clearly now. Darn women. :(

The lines seemed to work OK for me, but if you're looking for suggestions for the two lines you didn't like much, then maybe:

Better days, loving with all of his heart Could become

"Better days, when his heart returns to home"

and this

But what really matters, is the heart pumpin blood in your chest.
could be.

"But what really matters is to remember how to love."

Tricky one. You need something good and solid to balance all the stuff you've been saying is basically worthless, but it's always very hard to find the words to bring the "good" side to life. I kept coming up with stuff like "Better days, when the chains come off his heart" or "heart throws off the chains" or other fine heart cliches... :? Hmm, must be some way to say "less head, more heart" but it's not jumping at me right now...

I also wondered about
Better days, feeling love that feels real She seemed to be copping one too many feels there. There are quite a few options for changing either "feel". However, it's one of those things that my eye catches on the page, but doesn't jar when sung. So not that important.

I quite liked arms around your neck. Hands around your neck might have raised an eyebrow, but I rather enjoy the arms around the neck sort of cuddle.. :oops:

Your performance was great :D it reminded me a bit of Tracey Chapman's “Behind the wall” great stuff. I guess it was because of the vocal only, very powerful.

I really liked the theme, and the way you developed it in the song. Strong stuff and well constructed.

Graet voice and a very good song. I agree with L.K. on the arms
around her neck line it does sound like you are choking her.
He'll have better days, in a three bedroom house
One for each kid, himself and a spouse This feels a little out of place to me because it would seem
he has all these things but doesn't appreciate them.

This probally isn't much better. but maybe something like:

He'll have better days, sleeping in his own house
Being a father to his kid, and a lover to his spouse

I'm not sure that works either but it may help you see
I'm thinking.

To be honest, around you neck sounds better to me however I read it to my girlfriend and she agrees with you. I'm thinking I will be changing that one. If I were to strangle her :shock: , it would be with my hands and not my arms. That huggin :lol: :D :lol:
