SP I'm not sure being pragmatic is a good or bad thing. I do try to balance the Right mode of my brain with the Left mode. The Left mode being practical, and discriminating, loves rules and structure, whereas the Right mode is totally non discriminatory, emotional and just wants to have fun, and if let loose would just be expressing imagery forever. Letting the Right mode loose, but within certain boundaries i.e. song structure, is what I strive for to a greater or lesser degree.

I love the pragmatic way you approach your love songs. It's not going to get you on the CD of top 100 wedding songs anytime soon, which is unfortunate, because it would in a just world.

but your first verse is sort of aimed at the world in general, your second is about yourself (or selves!) - maybe a third verse, sort of concluding statement would wrap it up nicely? Your right, it felt like a good idea at the time :) , but a third verse and maybe start with the specific and progress to the general might work better, thanks for that. To be honest though, I think its headed to the shoebox.

I get a sort of dreamy, floaty, head-in-the-clouds vibe from this, like you're in love and walking on air - maybe if you used major and major 7th chords it would suit the mood?

This song is pretty minimalist but my prime objective was that I wanted to try and get the rhythm of walking into the song. So it's not particularly earth shattering but I think there's a nice little message in there regardless. The instrumental is there to give a contrast to the pedestrian verses.
