I love your guitar as well pbee, sounds great :)

I both agree and disagree with Vics suggestion, most people tend to break their new years resolutions, so I feel right at home with these lyrics... but it could be good for a deeper story, though, as well as adding some more lines.
I especially liked the second verse!

Only quibble I have is, it seems slightly unfinished....maybe you could add, as per David's suggestion, a bridge showing why your resolution(s) are all lies? Do you make the same ones every year, knowing you're going to break them anyway? Now THAT'S cynical....
