Is it the "Sha la la la la la la la la la la dee dah" part in Brown Eyed Girl?
Yeah that's my understanding.
And considering the topic I would guess a minor key?
No, it's in the key of F

“Three of three where to from here” I haven't tried to sing that yet I think it should be ok, I have managed to get my voice around this line” Look ahead see behind” which was a little tricky.

Trev, I hope you recover soon. I have two options with the hmm's either directly at the end of the verse or after a little musical interlude. Ive tried it with both and I like both of them so I just have to wait until I record it properly and see how it goes then.

Vic, I hadn't thought about increasing the tempo as the song progresses, good idea to relate it to the “need for speed” these days. Even our perception of time seems to change as we get older, time seems to go faster.

I have a very rough take of this song and will try to record it properly this week.

Cheers
Paul

LOL, I can REALLY relate to that!!! Funny, but when I play guitar, I've got a pretty good sense of rhythm and timing - even when I was a BAD guitarist, at least I was in time. But put me on a dance floor, I've got all the natural rhythm of a traffic accident. In fact, women who've danced with me would probably rather be in a traffic accident! Or in a queue at the post office - or under an exploding volcano - or at home watching TV........

Anyway, back to the song. That's what we're here for.

I like the minimalist lyrics - we don't see too many. They make sense to me, as much as I can make sense of anything these days, anyway. I'd really like to hear this one put to music - I'm thinking an almost funereal drumbeat to start, picking up the pace a little, then speeding up to an almost punk-rock tempo for the last verse - just to get the generational point across, you know? Seems these days, everything's all about speed - how fast your computer is, how fast you can play that Malmsteen riff, how fast you can latch on to the latest fad/style/trend, how fast you can send a txt message.....good for you, PBee, you haven't been seduced by the dark side - you keep writing in your own way, your own style, and it's still working. It's a long way from broke, and it definitely doesn't need fixing.

I hope you'll record this one - I'd like to see how it turns out.

:D :D :D

Vic
