It's a two way street - others here will say nice things about what you write, offer advice about what they think might work better, and sometimes even admit they don't understand it; and you should feel free to offer constructive criticism about their lyrics too. If you can post a mp3 file of your song that's even better - it's not always possible to hear in your head how someone's going to fit something like "terminological-inexactitude" into a short line.

Your lines are not corny at all. Number 2 has a wealth of possibilities and number 4 could go anywhere, which I like. We had a redneck influence pop up when it came to Week 49, and I can see number 5 joining that group.

Next up, grab the assignment for Week 49 - take five lines from the Week 48 posts that you didn't write yourself and come up with the first verse of a song from each one, so you end up with five different verses. Keep them a sensible length and not over-complicated. Then post them.
