Thanks Vic,
Im pretty happy with the way this one turned out, yes I think that the bass groove adds something nice. I guess I have dhodge to thank for that, in as much as without his book I would never have bought a bass in the first place. After I won a copy of his book I thought I had better go and buy a bass so I could put the book to some use :D .
This was an interesting assignment as one of the reasons that I havent been writing is that Im wanting to do something different with my songs, now all I have to do is see what I can learn from this.
Fits the mood for an open mic cafe gig
Hmmm interesting comment, most of my musical outlet at the moment is open mics, so thats always in the back of my mind

cheers
Paul

I've tried DADGAD on a couple of
occasions, The Drum and If I Had Time are both DADGAD.

As for insights, hmmm I think timing is pretty important when singing a song like this, I think I got it right a couple of times in there. Actually the thing that I'm most pleased about with this song is the bass line. There's a real temptation with a song that's got a faster tempo to play a bass line that follows the strum but I managed to resist and follow the chord changes only, at least in the verses anyway.

Thanks for the comments.

Paul
