If I have one small criticism, I'd like to hear you pay a little more attention to the voice - the mix is perfect, voice & guitar are well balanced - I know you write your songs so's you can perform them solo, but I'd like to hear you lay down the guitar track first, then overdub the vocals so's you could put more into them - I know from my own experience how hard it is to record a song all in one take!

:D :D :D :D

(Worth an extra smiley instead of the usual three!)

Vic

Thanks all for the feedback.
"would have no clue as to what you are talking about" fair comment. It is quite general, certainly the 1st verse is, it could just as easlily be a relationship break up. I think the second verse, has a more positive spin to it though, its more "go for it, dont let me hold you back" which again you could apply to many crossroad situations in life.
"Interesting take on the topic." LOL more interesting than you realise. I find myself in our subject shoes (so to speak) at the moment. Not so much a career change more of a career opportunity that involves a whole lot of unknowns and I have to decide whether to leave my comfort zone (take off my hushpuppies and go barefoot) or not.
"Do you have any music for this" yes I do "minimalist backing with a few minor chords" (1 actually). The verses are Dm and A# and the chorus's are F C A# C F C A# F (read guitar tuned down 2 steps and Em C G D C etc.). I do plan to record this on Thursday night as it sounds quite promising sitting on the couch with guitar in hand.

Hey Trev hows the back ? nice to see on SSG again, the break seems to have done your songwriting a power of good.

cheers

Paul

Do you have any music for this, or plans to record a demo of it? I recall your style as being quite sparse, with nicely drifting melodies (instead of heavy rhythms, I mean it in a good way! more contemplative than hard pop), so I sometimes have trouble hearing your lyrics as you intend them until I check the /mp3s you post. I'll hold back on commenting more for now because of that, but I'm looking forward to hearing this one. Nice job.
