I think the topic is quite narrow in scope...only playing cards and even cards in general...

Look at the poor turnout at SSG and no opinions or critics...Oh we want an easy topic

Every assignment is supposed to be a challenge. For the record (and having watched more than three years of SSG material I think I can qualify as a judge) this topic has already more replies than quite a few topics.

Challenging topics take more time for people to write. And that's not taking into account what, exactly, is going on in most people's lives. A fair number of the SSG writers (based solely on what they write about and their critiques) are adults with jobs and families and who write when they can. This is not a mandantory attendence gig (otherwise we'd have eleven songs from you by now, right? I only say this because of the use of the word "we" in your post...) and some weeks will see more responses than other. This is by the nature of life more than the nature of the assignment.

The other thing to take into consideration are people's writing styles. Like a few of the SSG posters, I almost always write the music first. Just got that done last night. Now it's off to figure out how the rest of the song will fit.

Be seeing you on the boards and looking forward to reading your take on this week's assignment.

Peace
