I was going to rant here about how Christmas starts way too early and about how the idea of christmas has metamorphosed into the huge commercial extravaganza that we experience today. I think its important occasionally to revisit its origins and try to see the intent and the ideals that lie behind this holiday. Although I don't necessarily believe in the deity I do believe the underlying principles of peace and goodwill to all are to be admired and attempted even if only for a short time.

In that spirit I'd like a festive song from you for this week's assignment. It can be about any aspect of christmas - celebration, over comercialisation, peace on earth, snowmen, sleigh bells etc.

We won't be having an assignment next week but we'll pick up in the new year.

So whatever beliefs you have allow me to etxend my wishes for a peaceful christmas and a very prosperous New Year to all of SSG readers and writers.
