That´s still one of my fave films, and after all these years, I still love the "Dueling Banjos".....so does the Mrs, every time I´ve got a guitar in hand she asks me to play it......

why would you have to feel nervous, mister? ;) (but I know what you mean.... lately I've been feeling like that, too..always anxiously waiting for the comments)

As a canoeist I can't wait to get back on the river now that spring has finally arrived here in the Northeastern U.S.

I don't think I'll be going over any waterfalls though.

A lot of good songs been posted this week, it's the first time for a while I've felt a bit nervous about posting....had a couple of ideas, "Ice Maiden" was the working title for the original song I had....but I've scrapped that completely....went off on a different tack (aaargh! bad pun alert!)....

I also thought of adding a "part two" to last weeks song, where the sailor in question was becalmed....scrapped that as well.....

Then.........last night....Deliverance was on the TV, got the idea for this from the bit where Burt Reynolds went over the waterfall, and got dragged underneath the surface by the undertow.....

(Bit of trivia for you here....Burt almost got killed filming that scene, apparently none of the stunt-men were willing to do it....they tried filming it with a dummy going over the waterfall, someone asked the director how did it look...."Like a dummy going over a waterfall...." so Burt says, "Aw what the hell....I'll do it...." so he goes over the waterfall, gets caught in the undertow, dragged along for about a quarter of a mile underwater....they fish him out, pump the water out of his lungs and take him back to the set....

"How did that come out" says Burt to the director.....

"Like a dummy going over a waterfall" came the deadpan reply.......)

Ah well, this one's for you Burt.....
