                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[Undertow<br><br>Living with you is like living on a river,<br>It was all smooth sailing at first,<br>Then I got dragged into a seething maelstrom,<br>Like the flood-gates broke and the levee burst,<br><br>I'm caught up in a raging torrent, <br>Dragged beneath the surface, by the undertow,<br>And I can't swim, And I can't even breathe,<br>Pinned against the rocks, by the undertow<br><br>The surace was calm when we set sail,<br>Then we hit the white water rip-tide,<br>I didn't know about the rapids we faced,<br>The storm waters we've hit, don't seem to subside,<br><br>I'm caught up in a raging torrent, <br>Dragged beneath the surface, by the undertow,<br>And I can't swim, And I can't even breathe,<br>Pinned against the rocks, by the undertow<br><br>There seem to be calmer waters ahead,<br>But it's the hidden depths that scare me,<br>Because you can't tell from a tranquil surface,<br>About the currents underneath.....<br><br>Beause I'm caught up in a raging torrent, <br>Dragged beneath the surface, by the undertow,<br>And I can't swim, And I can't even breathe,<br>Pinned against the rocks, by the undertow........<br><br>(Structure....Verse/chorus/verse/chorus/bridge/chorus)<br><br>A lot of good songs been posted this week, it's the first time for a while I've felt a bit nervous about posting....had a couple of ideas, "Ice Maiden" was the working title for the original song I had....but I've scrapped that completely....went off on a different tack (aaargh! bad pun alert!)....<br><br>I also thought of adding a "part two" to last weeks song, where the sailor in question was becalmed....scrapped that as well.....<br><br>Then.........last night....Deliverance was on the TV, got the idea for this from the bit where Burt Reynolds went over the waterfall, and got dragged underneath the surface by the undertow.....<br><br>(Bit of trivia for you here....Burt almost got killed filming that scene, apparently none of the stunt-men were willing to do it....they tried filming it with a dummy going over the waterfall, someone asked the director how did it look...."Like a dummy going over a waterfall...." so Burt says, "Aw what the hell....I'll do it...." so he goes over the waterfall, gets caught in the undertow, dragged along for about a quarter of a mile underwater....they fish him out, pump the water out of his lungs and take him back to the set....<br><br>"How did that come out" says Burt to the director.....<br><br>"Like a dummy going over a waterfall" came the deadpan reply.......)<br><br>Ah well, this one's for you Burt.....<br><br> :D  :D  :D <br><br>Vic]]></content:encoded>
