Good chorus, good imagery in there.  Need to look at line lengths particularly at the start and see if you can make it just flow that touch better. The 4th line causes me to stumble every time I read it - that may just be me and it may work with the rhythm you have in mind.  Just have another look and see what you think.

readily apparent cadence, but It may work as a freely
sung work.  I thought the chorus..which was really the
main part of the assignment was one spot where you
should have a set rhythm.  That would make it stand out
much better.   Now I am babbling....
