I think the music for this one is going to be classic early Beatles.
Edit:
Sitting down to actually sing found the original a bit bulky; Here's the pared down version, and the MP3 can be heard here:

http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7398002

Had a bit of an editing glitch with the recorder (again) so the song doesn't start til about 25 seconds in.
This needs a drum track and better guitar players than me, but it should give you an Idea of where I'm going with this.

Big Sister take 2

I was a little girl of six back in 1963
Jump rope, hopscotch, and cartoons on TV
Then one day big sister brought home a record player
And put on a new album
Four young boys with crazy hair
Well I guess I really didn't get it
I didn't understand it all
But the Beatles found their way to our house
Because Big Sister had a thing for Paul.

We all sat around the television
When Ed Sullivan announced the band
And we all jumped up and down excited
Hearing I Want To Hold Your Hand
We watched them standing on the tarmac
When they landed out at JFK
Three thousand screaming girls
Yelling in a maniac way
And I guess I didn't understand it
I guess I didn't get it all
When the Beatles found their way to our house
But my sister had a thing for Paul.

Rubber Soul , Revolver, Hard Day's Night
Sergeant Pepper , Abbey Road, we saw the light
We learned to harmonize over Twist and Shout
But by the end Let it Be it's over and out

Never quite got into John and Yoko
Didn't care too much for Paul and Wings
I thank god for George and Monty Python
I don't know why Ringo sings
But when I'm driving up the highway
Playing the Beatles on my MP3
I crank up the air, start singing “yeah, yeah yeah”
And I'm back in 1963.

And I guess I really didn't get it
I guess I didn't understand it all
But the Beatles came onto my play list
Because my sister had a thing for Paul.

Kathy Reichert 3/3/09
