Some interesting ideas here. I especially like "I Should Take My Own Advice," although I could also easily imagine a title of "I Should Never Take My Own Advice" working well, too. :wink:

And it should come as no surprise I'm also intrigued by "Seems Like Yesterday" and "Cobbled Streets and Smoky Chimneys."

Lots of potential and that bodes well for the next few weeks.

I'll kick things off this week with a few random phrases I've had in my notebook for a while and never got around to doing anything with.....

"You couldn't make it up" or "You couldn't make it up, could you!"

"Get a life"

"I should take my own advice"

"It's over - or is it?"

"A new scar on my heart" - actually, this one's currently part of a work-in-progress that isn't going as well as I thought it would - so I'll throw it open and see if anyone else comes up with something.

"This guitar was made for rockin'" - another one I should have done something with by now, but, even though I'm a rock'n'roller at heart, most of my best songs seem to be ballads or Dylanesque folk-type songs...seems I've forgotten how to rock.

"I'm a city boy at heart" / "I'm a small town boy at heart" / "I'm a country boy at heart".....I've been all three at one time or another, but never got round to using one of these titles. Feel free to change the gender if it's not appropriate.

"Seems like yesterday"

"Cobbled Streets and Smoky Chimneys" - had that one knocking around for a long time. Was supposed to be a nostalgic look back at my youth....somehow, again, never got around to actually writing a song to go with it....

"Songwriter's Block"

OK, I said four or five - and I've gone a bit over that, and I've got a lot more phrases and ideas for songs I've never followed up on....but these'll do for now.
