Also, after thinking about the situation one day, I realized that in some fucked up way I could see myself in this guy. The guy is a part (although very small) of who I am. As if in a sense I created him, as weird as that may sound. This is why I say "My average joe".

I like a lot about this song, but I think I don't quite get it.

The backup vocals look like they would work really well, I like the image of an everyday guy going through life just being one of the crowd, which is kind of what I get out of the opening verses, but in the chorus, where you call him "My average joe", I'm not sure what you mean there, and I'm not sure why everyone's kneeling.  It takes so long for me to outline what I don't like, that it looks like it outweighs what I do like, and that's not the case.  I really like the song.  Just unsure about those two parts.
