Great little guitar picking piece going on contrasting nicely with the reverb on the vocal. Spoken rather than sung adds a touch more melodrama to the whole piece particularly when you stop playing to utter Not Only the Dead Stay Silent.

Nice idea to raise a salute to the ANZACs - much deserved.

As for the melody, I love how the guitar sounds along with your voice here. The melody brings across the feeling of a misty morning, almost like a quiet before the storm feeling, this helps to get the message across perfectly.

The lyrics are strong, to me they show an individuals doubt of who's war he's fighting and how such bloodshed could be worth anything.
I think this is an excellent approach to the assignment, I was in the ranks of those who'd never heard of ANZAC before. Thanks for the link!

I might pop into in the studio and get some advise on how to get the hautingness feel I'm looking for then re-do it if a suggestion works ..
I have been playing around a bit with the recording stage and what I have posted is the best so that I have done ..

Got around to listening to your mp3 today. I agree with you, you might have the reverb on a bit high. Wouldn't it be possible to add an echo, only with reduced volume? I mean, that would still include that haunting emotion in the song.

Yeah Ilistened to it again I probably do have the reverb on a bit high but I don't want to lose the feeling of this by turning it down too much ... Well, you definitely achieved the haunting feel. Was well done. Would be nice if I could hear the lyrics better but I agree you need to maintain that "hauntingness". :)

Prior to listening to the track my first comment was going to be about the number of occurrences of "bloody" (though I understand living on the same patch of dirt as you :)). But having said that I didn't find it a problem listening to the track.
