While the lines may appears similar to Steve Miller's I doubt you could ever confuse one for the other. Its a matter of putting it into context musically etc. i promise that if I get around to recording this it wont have any sort of link to either of these two songs.

I think youve done an outstanding job here. Bluenights chorus was always a mystery to me, I liked it, but it was a mystery. What youve done here is put meaning to it, well done :D . Theres only one tiny thing that bothers me, and Im just being picky, but if you went the whole hog with this song it might be worth considering. These lines I'm a lover

I'm a taker are very similar to Steve Millers "The Joker" I'm a picker
I'm a grinner

That's really good. Quite bleak and disturbing too. That swagger you mentioned will suit it almost too well!

Another one where the eventual song has turn out much different than it might have done - I guess that's the cool thing about all this writing-in-stages stuff.
