This is actually a very good idea for a song using sunburn in a metaphorical rather than literal sense. With that sort of idea itbecomes notfar off a very interesting song. There's some excellent lines where the douible meaning shows through particularly well.

e.g.

Now I'm hurting
Feeling that burning

and

My face is killing me
Hurts to blink
Head hurts so much
It's difficult to think

Although my face in the first line could do with a bit of a rethink.

But it could be even more interesting to use the sunburn imagery with a burned out relationship or acute emabarassment theme and marry the two together.

Further note: I thought it would be funny if the opening of the song was acoustic and when the verse/interlude with winter was done with a clean sound... sort of the humor for the song.
