Concludes Kath's definitely out of slump!

All I can say is, the original going-off-to-sleep-I-won't-bother-writing-this-down idea must have been one helluva good one, because this is pretty good in its own right. (Or write, if you prefer!)

Only problem I had was with the last line of each verse and the last line of each chorus - it doesn't seem to match up at all with the rhythm I had going in my head, but sheesh, I suppose there are a hundred ways around that, and because they all don't match in the same way, I'm guessing you've already got the delivery of those lines planned out.

I also like the way you've done the topic differently from everyone else - where we chose to write a postcard, or a letter, you chose to write about receiving a letter...cute!

Looking good so far, and looking forward to hearing it.

:D :D :D

Vic

Last Sunday, laying there, drifting off, this song idea came to me, and alas, I did not get up and write it down, but convinced myself that I'd remember it the next day. Wrong. This is my attempt to reconstruct a song which I guarantee would have been stellar if I had not been so lazy :?
Here's the link: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=500133&content=music

Junk Mail

You broke my heart up baby
You know that it's true
You know I won't be wasting
No more time on you
I won't answer your knock
if you come by my door
And I'm not takin
your calls no more
When I saw your letter,
it went straight onto the pail
Don't need none of your Junk Mail

Junk mail
Uninvited and unwanted
Junk Mail
Unwelcome and unneeded
The way you hurt me baby
Is so far beyond the pale
Please stop sending your junk mail.

Every single evening
Five o'clock right on the dot
I go out to my mailbox
To see what mail I got
It might be bills
It might be a magazine
It might be publisher's clearing house
Making me a queen
It might be my check stub, or a catalogue or two
And I might be more junk mail from you.

Junk Mail
Goes straight into the shredder
Junk Mail
I won't treat you any better
I don't care if you're on your deathbed
Or writing me from jail
Just stop sending your junk mail.

I don't need another credit card, I don't want no cheap perfume'
Or the wherewithal to make myself a real estate tycoon
I can't read another word from you, I just don't give a damn
And if you send me e-mail, I'll mark ‘em all as spam.

Instrumental Verse
Repeat first chorus
Instrumental verse
Repeat second chorus.

K Reichert
7/5/08
