I am going to revisit this song with what you have suggested in mind and see what comes of it. The idea is that he only loves his job and that because of it he is lonely and hard and void of loving feelings. But I like the angle you have on it as well and see possibilities there too. Thank you for taking the time to listen and for giving me feedback this is why I am here again to work on my craft.
This is a link to my reverbnation page and our web page http://www.reverbnation.com/blueslightning http://blueslightning.com/ ther is music form the CD there and the trio as well .

+1

The guitar work is inspirational 8)

Suggestion:

All the other lines work great but this line could use some adjusting

"Don’t know where his going and he don’t if he comes back"

This line is ok, but try something closer to your signature tag "Life is not what you did. It's what you are doing."

...so something along the lines of "miles ahead, miles at his back"

b/c he's not a traveler/wanderer/vagabond.......he's a railroad man.....it's pretty clear to know where the railroad tracks go and they will only come back on the same tracks.......and he loves his job going back and forth on those same tracks.......so more a line about enjoying the journey instead of reaching a destination.

Thanks for sharing and welcome to SSG

James
