No, we don't get hurricanes in England - just 364 days of rain, and one sunny day per year.....we call the sunny day "Summer"........not that I'd ever knock my country, but they should have gone for the optional extras - like a roof.....

Thanks for all the positive comments. I really thought of this piece as a bit of a cheat. The use of clichesite.com was just suppose to be a way to spark The Muse not take over the whole thing. All and all it did break the writers block though and was a lot of fun.

"If you need to Know where you can find me " At least it makes sense now.

Hi Celt,

This is a brilliant approach.

My favorite movie of all time, is Casablanca. In college I did 2 term papers on it. It's just a fantastic flick. Anyways, one of my profs. directed me to this essay on the film, by Umberto Eco:
Casablanca, or, the cliche's are having a ball. Towards the end, Eco says about the film:
"When all the archtypes burst in shamelessly, we reach Homeric depths. Two cliches make us laugh. A hundred cliches move us."

So, my point being... (circumstantial cuss, ain't I?) I think it's fantastic to take the approach you took, and try to build the whole song out of cliches. And not only that, you did it wonderfully. I tripped over the meter in a couple places, but I usually do that anyways. I'm sure when you set it to a melody, you've got all that figured out. Anyways, real good, it was a pleasure to read.

hey celt,

nice little diddy. i like this song. upbeat and it doesn't seem like you forced any of the cliches to make then fit. flows very nicely. If you need to where you can find me this is the only line that i have found that doesn't sound right.

I think my muse got left at the beach a couple of weeks ago and is still there, building sandcastles.......

Hi,

The Muse must be on holiday or something this week because I had a really hard time coming up with anything. The old cliche "waiting for the other show to fall" got into my head. So I in my infinite wisdom :lol: decide if one cliche is good let's see how many can be crammed into one little song. Anyways with a little help from
