It was an inspiration stream, quickly typed and sent, not crafted. First thought that didn't hit a brick wall was a blend of second husbands and first ex-wives and the attachment that carries on after the divorce.

I actually hit type and send with just lyrics and then figured out the chord progression in my head. Usually hearing music in my head is a prompt to record. For this one, it seems like it's not to clear who the song is about. It seems like you are trying to give equal attention to the (ex)husband and wife. Consider focusing on one character; either the ex-husband getting a divorce again or the wife finding a second husband.
