Another way might be:

Guitars insist that all must dance.
Flamenco's power and romance.

One thought about the music - a typical flamenco chord progression would be to start with an A major chord and then simply shift your fingers to the third fret of the D, G, and B strings - essentially a Bb chord, but with the open high E and A strings serving as a drone. Might work instead of a minor seventh.

Looking forward to hearing this one. And, as always, to more from you.

Peace

The power of flamenco revealed.

I'm still not happy with that line.

Hi Renee.....yes, that's the one line that jarred slightly with me, too. I don't have an easy fix for it, but maybe just, "The power of Flamenco revealed" is better than the original "Restrained power...." line. Would have been nice if, as well as the "lemon blossoms in Murcia" you could have fitted in a line about "oranges in Sevilla." (I think Sevilla is the Spanish spelling, in English it's Seville.)

From an Englishman's perspective, it's slightly weird to read a song about Spain being the number one place someone wants to visit; we take it very much for granted. It's been pretty much the #1 holiday destination for British people since the 60's, when package holidays were introduced....but having said that, most of them wouldn't know much about the stately grandeur of Spain, they go for the sun, sangria and s*x - especially the 18-30 brigade!

Would be nice to get - as a native of Madrid - Nuno's thoughts on this song.

:D :D :D

Vic

I wish I could explain why these things are important. They are things that I've always wanted to see. There is no connection to my family and I've only known a few people who have visited Spain. I have only read about these places. From where I live, Mexico is just a drive down the road. Spain is hard to get to.

I spent a lot of time reviewing the lyrics and only ended up changing the last line in the second verse to this to make it more singable:

The power of flamenco revealed.

I'm still not happy with that line.

In any case, I recorded this a few times. When I started on it, it was much slower and about a minute longer. That was too long, so it's either leave it at the faster tempo or cut out a verse or two. I like having all of the senses included in the lyrics.

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=832466&songID=12563263
