I know it depends on the song and how you want to present it, but sometimes harmonies that are "organically off" (more in terms of timing and phrasing than in terms of pitch) can give a song more of a gospel feel. Don't know why (maybe the topic) but I could definitely hear this song done in that style.

You should do a gospel number at some point. You'd undoubtedly be very good at it.

Sung harmonies, but I did have to doctor it a bit with some pitch shift for the high notes and also realign some of the words; especially "feel", "shame" and "ghosts"
