Suggestions:

"I’d always get to my first class not a moment too soon"

Change this line to talk about the end of the school day b/c you already mentioned being late in verse one...and it would tie-in with waiting for the school year to end

"another day, another lesson to learn"

how about expand the time frame.....

"another year, another lesson to learn"

I can hear this something in the vein of The Ramones 8)

And nice work here! Lots of wonderful detail - definitely a pleasure to listen to this narrator / character.

Only question is whether or not he would flip so easily between the casual language of calling the teacher "teach" and the formality of a phrase like "considering the prime objective of school was to educate?" Maybe someplace in the middle?

The rhythm and pulse of the lyric certainly lends itself to all kinds of musical possibilities. Do you have anything particular in mind at this point?
