So follow the link http://rodders.dmusic.com/ sorry there is no vocals but cant seem to get the mic working through the Boss GS10.
So what I've done is put the verse and chorus that I've recorded , showing the chord changes and is as follows. You should get a good idea of how the vocals fit.

Just a rough cut you must understand

(C) (C7)
Seven O' seven two thousand and five

was it just the reponse of the media

Do you think we are gonna change

No man we think you're very strange

Rodders,

Nicely done, I think, and a good interpretation of this week's assignment. I didn't mind the rhyme scheme much, I was just glad it had one. Even so, it'd be interesting to take Martin's suggestion and see what you can find out there. Research never hurt a writer.

My only suggestion would be to cut a few choruses. The way it's written, you have 5 verses, each followed by a chorus. That's 5 repetitions of the chorus. That's a lot. Maybe try v, v, c, v, v, c, v, c or v, v, v, c, v, v, c. Try singing it a couple different ways, till you find one that seems like a good fit to you. And singing it out loud is more helpful than singing it in your head. Your tongue tends to trip up more easily than your brain.

All in all, very well done.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I can't really picture this as a song. The rhyme scheme AABBCC doesn't seem to work musically for me - I can see it working as a poem but not a song. If someone can prove me wrong with an example of a song that uses AABBCC and works, I'll take that back. Also I think you have too many "unusual words" in your song (Al Qaeda, Mohammed et al stand out a bit too much). It's good to have unusual words so that the song isn't too abstract, but you have to get the balance right. I think the unusual numbers would have been enough.

Just a bit of hopefully constructive criticism.

On the plus side, it's great that you wrote a complete song from start to finish, containing all your ideas. I shouldn't really criticise it because I haven't even had an idea for my song yet this week.

This is a number that has stuck with me. The London bombings. I have two beautiful daughters living and working in London The bombings were at 9.am I didn't get hold of them until 6pm as all the phones were down in the city that day including mobiles. The youngest of them is a nurse who works at the hospital on Charring Cross Rd. where a lot of the victims were sent.
So anyway this is a little protest song I penned today.
