I can definitely get the feel of where you're going with this and the lines about the horizon staying the same are particularly strong.

I would try to tighten this song up melodically as opposed to lyrically. I would say you have a well written poem here and with the right work it could be a good song.

Good work so far...
Hi Straycat

You've got a good start here. I like the Rickie Lee Jones-like feel the song has and the melody, with its gentle rise and fall, does bring the ocean and waves vividly to mind.

It especially goes well with these lines:
But no matter where you've been going/you went
The horizon stayed the same

The middle section seems to lose the flow a little:
Sleeping in strangers' beds
Facing a stranger set of houses and alleys and lanes
Put you in the saddest state
Of hearing only the static in your head
The feeling principal in your hands

And I'm not sure if it's because my ear wants to hear the rhythm you've already set up (which would mean tweaking a few lines - possibly lengthening the first one) or something totally different. I've got to listen a few more times and think about it.

But the last line in this section really seems to come out of nowhere and doesn't really fit all that well. Not really sure if you even need it...

Looking forward to more.

Peace
