trevor, thanks for the link.. that was fun:-) though not exactly my cup of tea :lol:
the line you mentioned... quite straight-forward to me.. having an aching stomach that craves for chocolate when you resolved not to eat any more of that today.. and a stinging chest.. well, i do have some indefinable(?) sting in my chest sometimes, but it's rather meant like missing someone/something or just the feeling of being at "peace with the falling leaves" (like conor oberst would say)..

hey joe, you did rewrite it:-) thanks.. there are places where i don't want to give up the original lines, but others really helped. (like leaving out the "suddenly resembling" bit.. wouldn't have thought of that, but it's like "i could not see for all the trees.." as the great swedish band logh would sing)

I don't really get this, but some of the lines are cool. Do you have any kind of melody for this? Some suggestions on how to condense it a bit so it might be easier to put some music to it. I don't think leaving out a few of the lines changes any of your meaning. On the other hand I'm not sure exactly what that is, but I think it's still pretty intact.

Speak of absent hours

Staring at ceilings
Or out windows
It all looks the same with closed eyes

Puzzling over a song
That's clearly see-through
And easily giving into
A rebellious stomach and a pain in my chest

I wish I had an overcoat

Lying motionless on the road
As if traffic was just a nuisance

An emerald coat
Slightly oversized with a hood
To pull over hypocrite heads
And they avert their eyes
Trembling water circles
Like those we left on the lake
Some happier day

Oh, a coat of comfort

When I crossed that street again at night
Only a green outline remained
Just then April lowered her eyes

I have no idea what this line means but gee its' kool

Yeah I would like to see how this would fit into a melody but knowing how hard it is to get something from your head to guitar then out of the mouth I won't mention this :) Just puzzled thats all
