Days queue up so orderly
We stand still and watch
While shadows grow behind our backs
Soon they will have circled us
I said the moon might well misuse our trust

The creek where it's shallow

And then you call your parents

These sockets empty, these arms limp

And the noise inside your head
Holds your tongue
