IMO, you've got maybe 75% of a good song here - but I do feel you need to expand on it, draw it out a little more. More action and reaction, if possible....but yep, you're on the right lines.

Good start and nice rhymes :D

...I had not noticed the fit of the 2nd verse until Jeremy pointed it out
I thought the second verse broke away from the theme a bit, ...It was still working for me except the chorus wouldn't need some changing because it is directed to a person....the singer would not say/sing the chorus to the tv

...maybe something along the lines of
All these interruptions
Where's my train of thought?
Almost had a masterpiece
But now it's all for naught
Next time I hear a notion
Or see an open mouth
It better be something good to say
Or all hell's gonna break out.

Another way to keep the 2nd vs would be to have something in the vs1 setting up
"blabbermouths all around"
"on the tube on the street
every other boob/person I meet"
etc...

Also, I see the form as Vs 1 problem Vs 2 problem ...maybe add V3 or bridge as a solution

Good theme though, and you've got some heartfelt lines in there that pretty much everybody could relate to. :)

I agree with Ken that "ballyhoo" sounds a bit old fashioned or not quite right in some way. It might also be good to throw in a more specific bit of story.

Or we'll have a falling-out.

Might have more impact if you put some action in there instead. Set up somebody annoying and then actually have the fight. Otherwise it's just a few verses of moaning. That can work too, but a bit of direct action can often help lift things.
