So it's bold plan, successfully carried through and subsequent doubts/no longer agree on what they did, are to do...
It reminds me a bit of a DVD I watched last night "Guilty by Association"....about small time drug hustlers in Washington D.C. The two friends from childhood turn on each other....while one is chasing the other through the playground, he accidentally shoots his girlfriend's 5 year old daughter who was playing on the slide.... he can't live with the guilt....turns himself in.....is stabbed in prison by the girl's biological father.... not a movie I would really recommend, but it captured the idea of "tough guy" falling apart or regretting his choices and what brought him down....a bit like Crime and Punishment.....guilt... :|

James

Thank you, James, for the suggestions! My mind is a bit sluggish these days, so bear with me, here is the next attempt (am quite happy with it, just needs soem re-wording in the fourth line of the first verse maybe):

This Ain't No Negotiation (title: Nick, chorus 1+2: Vic, verse 2: James)

We said you for me, I for you
Knives on our ankles were our first tattoos
We charmed the west wind and boldly betrayed him
We took their money, now you're second-guessing

This ain't no negotiation
It ain't that kinda situation
This is a final demand…
So you better forget your plans

If two heads are better than one
Then why am I here with a loaded gun
If I was the muscle and you were the brains
This botched up heist shows we're both insane

This ain't no negotiation,
No rules, no regulations,
No place to run to…
Or there's no more “me and you”

This ain't no negotiation
No horse, no sunset evasion
Lay bare your wounds
And I'll show you mine, too

Re-wording alternatives for the said line:
When we took their money where was your guilty conscience
Their money, your hands, no guilty conscience (back) then
Now: second thoughts, their money in your hands
Now you're second-guessing, their money in your hands
or.......?

So it's bold plan, successfully carried through and subsequent doubts/no longer agree on what they did, are to do...
.... then the bridge might link to the wounds in the last chorus... like... previous arguments/failed trust falls... maybe the two are even lovers and now the different opinions on the "work"-side leads to a seperation on the "personal" side... what have you;-) It's yours.

Cheers,
straycat.
