Oh, well. What a week. Been really struggling with this (for hours on end  ) and going through all kinds of versions either finding some lyrics or a tiny bit of a melody but never able to combine the two.. actually wanted my strumming to sound like The Wave Pictures' does in "Strange Fruit for David"... unsuccessfully... just this morning managed to find some way of plucking the chords and then struggled with my recording devices for some more hours.... so, I did record something, BUT it's not even near acceptable yet, just running out of time now so I'll just post. Imagine I had practised more and would sing better and imagine a tambourine, as well.
http://www.soundclick.com/whateverkeepsyouupatnight

Sthlm Skies

F6/9 Cadd9 F6/9
I told you about empty carriages in canary wharf
F6/9 Cadd9 F6/9oE
And the way the city sky becomes a dumping site
A7sus4 Dsus4
Holding our neon reflections up high
A7sus4 Cadd9 F6/9oE Cadd9
Like Veera once explained it does

F6/9 Cadd9 F6/9
As I was sitting through a lecture with hot chocolate
F6/9 Cadd9
Out our spooky lady's paper mug ditch
F6/9 Cadd9 F6/9
Sprawled down the front of my blue shirt
A7sus4 Dsus4
A familiar accent spoke up on Basil Fawlty

So Robert's here, too, pity we can't turn our heads
But I've had his back through linguistics
And a boy in red stripes smiling like François
Was almost in my sight through your hair at Cultural Theory

A7sus4
But don't say I should make another bet

Remember I told you about waiting, the process of
How I used to not be real without that ghost beside me
And presently I like hanging upside down the belfry in my own time
A7sus4 Dsus4
With the northern lights dumped at my feet
A7sus4 Dsus4 A7sus4 Dsus4
With the northern lights dumped at my feet
A7sus4 Dsus4 A7sus4
With the northern lights dumped at my feet.

As you see, I've given up noting the chords midway, and it looked pointless anyhow (no fixed pattern to speak of)
Ok, hope your ears will survive a listen. It might sound rather tedious... but I did try.
Love the idea of the assignment, Vic, and thought it would force me to pick up my guitar again, which it did, but I still wonder how to play it and get muddled up all the time
Will try to work on this+ re-record during the next weeks.

Cheers,
straycat.
