In the Middle East Really got me, this part. Have been noticing that recently, too.

The "homes are burning" verse is great, too.
As is the wording in There's a hidden picture
Of greater gravity.
And let's make empathy
Not a reason, not a choice,
But a cause - you could be a campaign writer :D

Chorus changed to the preffered 'we', I agree the other version was too judgemental.

Good start :D I like the idea behind the song. When it's sung it most likely won't sound broken up like it is written, but it might give you new ideas on phrasing.

I like this choice better: Could change this to 'we just turn daily disasters' .....less preachy.

I like your hook idea as well:

Who will take the time to pause
And let's make empathy
Not a reason, not a choice,
But a cause


I tried to figure out your code of the first letters, but not for long just in case it was a chase down the rabbit hole....but I won't call foul. I had to bend the rules on this one a bit as well to make the lyrics "songable"....there's a new word for you :wink: Songable -words that you can put music to or music that you can put words to to make a song :roll:

Possibly a little more generalised and less detail specific than normal, but maybe in a good way?
